Men’s and women’s perms are much the same in terms of process, the differences usually lies in the length of hair and on occasion expected end result. In its simplest form, perm means ‘permanent wave’ which represents the change from straight to permanent curls with the perm altering the structure of your hair. Whereas traditional perms offer a fixed curl pattern throughout leaving an artificial appearance, most modern perms are all about achieving natural-looking texture and men’s perms are no different. Curls tend to mask split ends more effectively than straight hair therefore whilst it can take longer to become visible, there is still emphasis to look after your hair.
