Wedding hair at our Abingdon salon.
Your wedding is the occasion to have your hair done properly — and we’d love to be part of it. Whether you’re the bride, a bridesmaid, the mother of the bride or a guest, we create wedding hair that looks beautiful in person and in every photograph, and holds from the ceremony through to the last dance. It’s some of our favourite work: a style built for you and the day, done with the time and care it deserves.

Done in the salon, not at your venue.
One important thing to know from the outset, because it’s where wedding hair varies most between providers: we do all wedding hair here in the salon, in the run-up to and on the morning of your day — we don’t travel to venues, hotels or the family home. It’s a deliberate choice about quality. In the salon we have everything to hand — the full kit, proper mirrors and lighting, our products, and a calm, unhurried space — rather than working from a bag in a busy hotel room against the clock. It means we can give you and your party our full attention and our best work. If you specifically need a stylist to come to your venue on the morning, we’re honestly not the right fit for you — but if you’re happy to come to us, you’ll get a better result for it, and many brides find a calm salon morning a lovely, unhurried start to the day.
For the bride, and the whole party.
We look after the whole wedding party, not just the bride. Bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, and guests are all welcome — and if several of you are coming, tell us when you get in touch so we can plan the timings and book enough of the morning to do everyone properly without rushing. Styles run the full range: classic bridal updos, soft romantic curls and waves, half-up looks, braided and plaited styles, sleek and structured finishes, or something loose and undone with pieces left to frame the face. Whatever you have pinned and saved, bring it to us.
We’d recommend a trial run.
For the bride especially, we’d always suggest a trial before the day — a separate appointment, booked in advance, where we create the style properly so you can see it, live with it for a few hours, and tell us what you’d change. It takes the uncertainty out of the morning itself: by the time your wedding day arrives, we both know exactly what we’re doing and how long it takes, and there are no surprises. Bring your dress details, any hair accessories or a veil if you’re wearing one, and your reference pictures — the trial is the time to get all of it exactly right. If a trial isn’t possible for you, we’ll make it work on the day, but where you can, it’s genuinely worth it.
Timing, and being honest about it.
Wedding hair doesn’t come with a single fixed price or a fixed length, because it depends entirely on your hair and the style — length, thickness, texture and condition, how well the hair holds, and how intricate the look is all change how long it takes, and the time is what the cost is based on. A simpler style might take around half an hour; an intricate updo on long, thick hair can take a good deal longer. What we’ll always do is look at what you want, talk it through (a trial is perfect for this), and give you a clear, honest idea of the time and cost well before the day — so there are no surprises when it matters most.
Booking your wedding hair.
Get in touch as early as you can — wedding dates book up well in advance, especially through spring and summer, and the more notice you give us the better we can hold the right slot for you and your party. Tell us your wedding date, how many of you there are, and bring or send your reference pictures. If you’d like a trial, we’ll arrange that for a date that gives you plenty of time before the day.
Message us on WhatsApp or call on 01235 534705 — for weddings, a quick message with your date and a picture is often the easiest way to start the conversation. You can also book online at wisteriaavenue.co.uk/bookings.
