For a lot of people, prom is the first time they’ve had their hair professionally styled for a big occasion — and that’s completely normal. There’s no need to know the right words or arrive with a fixed idea. Bring some pictures of looks you like (screenshots from your phone are perfect), and we’ll talk through what will genuinely suit your hair and your outfit, and what will still look great hours later. If you’re not sure where to start, that’s exactly what we’re here for.
A style that lasts the night.
The looks we’re asked for most are updos, half-up half-down styles, romantic curls and waves, braids, and soft styles with pieces left out to frame the face. Whatever you choose, the important thing is that it holds — prom is a long night, and a style that looks perfect at six o’clock needs to still look good at eleven. Part of our job is steering you toward the version of your chosen look that will actually last through the photos, the meal and the dancing, rather than one that drops after an hour. We’ll be honest about what will work for your hair type so you get the best of both.
Coming as a group?
Lots of friends like to get ready together and book their prom hair as a group — and we’re happy to arrange that. If there are a few of you, let us know when you get in touch and we’ll plan the timings so everyone’s done in good time before the evening, without anyone feeling rushed. Because prom season is busy, group bookings especially are worth arranging as far ahead as you can.
Timing and cost.
There’s no single fixed price for prom hair, because it depends on your hair and the style — length, thickness, texture and how intricate the look is all change how long it takes, and the time is what the cost is based on. Most appointments sit around an hour, though a simpler style can be quicker and something intricate on long or thick hair can take longer. When you get in touch we’ll look at what you want and give you a clear, honest idea of the time and cost, so there are no surprises — handy to know if you’re planning the day around it (and useful for parents too).
Booking your prom hair.
Prom season is short and busy — roughly May to July — so book as early as you can, especially if you’re coming as a group. Get in touch with your prom date and a picture or two of the look you like, and we’ll set aside the right amount of time. Parents are very welcome to get in touch to arrange it, and to come along on the day.
