Senior Hair Stylist
The role
The same Senior Stylist role, on a part-time basis — anywhere from one to four days a week. We’ll agree a set schedule together at interview based on what we need covered and what works for you, and once it’s set, that’s your working week. It’s flexible in that we build it around you; it’s not an open-ended “choose your own days as you go” arrangement.
You’d be picking up overflow demand from a consistently fully-booked salon, working alongside a small senior team. No regional manager, no corporate management chain — decisions get made by people who actually work in the salon.
Where you’d fit in.
Colour is a big part of what we do — balayage, highlights and full colour make up a large share of our bookings, so if colour is your strength, there’s plenty of it here. We’re also one of the few salons in the area with a genuine curly-hair specialism — we stock OnlyCurls throughout the salon — and if that’s an interest or a strength of yours, it’s a real point of difference for us and for you.
There’s room to grow, too. We run real ongoing training through the year, and for the right person there’s the opportunity to train in men’s hair systems — a specialist, high-value service we run from a private space upstairs. Longer term, for someone who’s the right fit, there’s the possibility of a partnership stake in the salon down the line. We’re not promising that on day one; it’s a genuine conversation for the right person as things develop.
Who we’re looking for
- Strong technical skill. Confident across cutting and colour. We’re looking for someone who can walk in and pick up where the existing team leaves off.
- Good with people. Technical skill is the baseline. What sets the best stylists apart is how they handle the people in their chair — communication, care, consistency.
- Reliable around the days you commit to. Part-time doesn’t mean part-attention. Once your schedule is set, we need to be able to rely on it.
- Open to growing with us. Whether that’s colour, curly hair, hair systems, or eventually more — we’re looking for someone who wants to build something here, not just fill hours.
What you’ll get
- £16–£18 per hour. Depending on experience and how much you bring to the team. Same rate as full-time stylists.
- One to four days a week. Agreed together at interview, Tuesday to Saturday, based on what suits us both.
- Sundays and Mondays closed automatically. The salon is closed both days. No rota juggling.
- A full column from day one. You won’t be building a client base from scratch.
- Joico and OnlyCurls throughout the salon. Professional-grade products for colour and curls, to use and recommend with confidence.
- Training included. Colour, curly hair, and the option to train in hair systems — pro-rated to your hours.
