Without suitable hydration, curls can become frizzy, dry, and unruly. Understanding Your Curl Type

Curls can range from loose waves to tight coils. Knowing your curl type helps in selecting the right products and techniques for your hair. Whilst diagrams exist to identify specific curls, more typically curls can be identified by:

Wavy Hair: Loose waves that may need light moisture and gentle styling products.
Curly Hair: Defined, springy curls that benefit from hydration and frizz control.
Coily Hair: Tight, dense curls that require intense moisture and protective styling.

Moisture, Moisture, Moisture!

Curly hair tends to be drier than straight hair because the natural oils from the scalp have a harder time travelling down the hair shaft. Use a leave-in conditioner like the Only Curls Hydrating Curl Crème, which provides long-lasting moisture and helps define your curls.

Avoid Sulphates & Silicones

Sulphates can strip hair of its natural oils, leading to dryness and frizz. Silicones, on the other hand, can build up on the hair and scalp, blocking moisture.
